The Oklahoma County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), met on Wednesday, April 15th. The agenda item stated: Discussion and possible action regarding the recommendation to reduce the Mutual Cooperative Agreement between the BOCC and Oklahoma State University on behalf of the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service (OCES) for FY 27 to $146,888.80, or a total amount not to exceed $553,345. This motion would have reduced the Oklahoma County OSU Extension budget by 73%. District 1, Commissioner Lowe made motion to reject this motion and it was seconded by District #3, Interim County Commissioner Foster. The motion carried with 2 -1 vote.
I am 100% confident that this was rejected due to your voice being heard. We thank you all who took time to call, email or appeared in person at the BOCC meeting on Wednesday. I was told by several people that the speakers for Extension articulated their words very well and were all polite and spoke with passion regarding their connection and the county's need to support
OSU Extension/4-H.
Now we are asking if you are able and feel led, please take time to send a thank you note to District 1 & 3. I would love to fill their office with notes of gratitude for stepping up for all of us during this very trying time.

It is my understanding the County Commissioners approved the full budget for Extension for FY 2027. This amount will be added to the estimate of needs of the General Government Fund and will be presented and voted on by the Oklahoma County Budget Board.
Thank you for your time and continued support.
