Student, Intern, and Certified Members Training and Background Requirements

All Master Gardeners, except for Emeritus and currently Inactive, are required: 

1; to pay their yearly fee of $15 starting in 2026; 

2; complete Working with Minors and Civil Rights training; and 

3; report their 30 service and 10 education hours.

All must be completed before December 31st.

An OSU program, Z-Suites, is required for enrollment as an Extension Volunteer. Enrollment update is required annually starting in August. Instructions are detailed below to open an account.

Background checks are required every 4 years. OSU hired a third-party, Sterling, to provide this service. Funding is through OSU so DO NOT pay or donate.
